RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Robert Arboleda and Damian Bobadilla scored either side of halftime as Sao Paulo extended its winning streak with a 2-1 win over Internacional in Brazil's Serie A on Sunday.
The visitors took the lead just before halftime at Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre when Arboleda headed in from Enzo Diaz's corner.
Damian Bobadilla doubled the advantage by combining with Nahuel Ferraresi and curling a shot into the far corner.
Bruno Tabata reduced the deficit from the penalty spot after Pablo Maia scythed down Wesley Ribeiro.
Sao Paulo survived a tense final 10 minutes to clinch its fourth straight league victory and rise to eighth in the 20-team standings. Internacional is 13th, four points further back.
"We're enjoying our football and everybody is playing their part," Sao Paulo manager Hernan Crespo told a post-match news conference. "We have to make the most of this because it's not normal to have a sequence like we're having in this competition. It's not easy."
Elsewhere in Brazil's top flight on Sunday, Palmeiras drew 2-2 at Vitoria, Atletico Mineiro won 2-1 at home to Bragantino, Ceara drew 1-1 at home to Flamengo, Fortaleza drew 1-1 at Corinthians and Cruzeiro prevailed 2-0 at Botafogo. ■
